2023年5月初旬に鹿児島県鹿屋市に新規オープンしました、編み物教室と編み物の糸や商品などのお店、Amiwool（アミウール）様のロゴデザイン担当させていただきました。
I had the pleasure of designing the logo for Amiwool, a newly opened knitting workshop and shop in early May 2023 in Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture.
キャッチコピーは「遊ぶように編み物を楽しむ」
The slogan is "Enjoying Knitting as Play."
このロゴは、カリグラフィーを軸としたロゴデザインです。 Amiwoolの英字スペルそのままを使い、全体で猫が毛糸で遊ぶ様子を表現しています。 これは元々ロゴのデザインのご要望聞き取り時に猫に関するロゴを 一つ作りたいというものがありました。 話をまとめる作業の中で、永松先生が考える編み物教室や編み物へのスタンスと、猫の雰囲気、きままな、寄り添い、癒やし、好奇心などが合致しているということに気づいた次第です。 そこからヒントを得て「遊ぶように編み物を楽しむ」というテーマを据え、猫が編み物を象徴する毛糸で遊んでいるような雰囲気や、遊び心のあるロゴをイメージ展開しています。 ただ、ロゴ的にタイポロゴなので小さく扱いたい場合などは「A」部分のみ独立展開できるように考慮しています。
This logo is a calligraphy-based design that uses the English letters of Amiwool while incorporating the image of a cat playing with yarn. The idea for this logo originated from a desire to create a logo with a cat theme, which was discussed during the initial design consultation. As we summarized the concept, we realized that the characteristics of cats, such as being carefree, affectionate, comforting, curious, matched the essence of knitting and the knitting workshop's philosophy.
From this insight, we established the theme "Enjoying Knitting as Play" and developed the imagery of a cat playing with yarn, reflecting a playful and whimsical quality in the logo. Additionally, the logo design allows for flexibility, as the "A" can be independently used when necessary, making it versatile for various applications.
